INDIANAPOLIS – May 9, 2019 – Indiana’s tech ecosystem is flourishing in part because of visionary executives leading successful tech and tech-enabled companies. Much of that success, however, is due to a large group of creative and innovative tech workers and other professionals who haven’t yet broken into the executive suite.

It’s the cream of that non-C-suite crop that TechPoint is currently seeking to honor as part of its fifth annual Tech 25 Awards. As in past years, the Tech 25 winners will be chosen by a panel of independent judges that will include past winners.

The Tech 25 represent a wide range of roles within tech companies, such as software developers, financial analysts, marketing directors, and product managers. Winners will be selected from three main categories: tech product/research and development; tech sales and marketing; and tech professional services.

“Tech 25 nominees and winners are individuals doing remarkable work in our local companies and communities, which should be recognized. Being part of Tech 25 is a significant distinction for tech employees and tech employers,” said TechPoint President and CEO Mike Langellier. “We encourage executives at tech employers around the state to nominate and take advantage of this platform for recognition of a remarkable employee.”

Much of Indiana’s tech community is located in Central Indiana, Langellier noted, “but there is a tremendous amount of innovation and tech ingenuity happening all over the state and we hope to see nominations for the Tech 25 from throughout Indiana.”

Criteria for the tech 25 awards include professional contributions, energy and attitude and community commitment. In addition to being star performers at their companies, winners are committed team players who build others up through mentoring, volunteering and positive examples and are committed to contributing to the broader community. Candidates must be nominated by executives at their companies and only one nominee per company will be considered.

This year’s honorees will be announced August 22 during a joint event with the Indianapolis Business Journal’s CTO of the Year awards at the Indianapolis Marriott (350 W. Maryland St.) as well as on the TechPoint Index.

Applications, guidelines and other information about both awards can be found here. Applications will remain open until June 7. See the past Tech 25 winners here.

This is the first time TechPoint and Indianapolis Business Journal have partnered to present their complementary awards that recognize tech builders and the CTOs who lead them. IBJ’s CTO of the Year awards honor those who fill top information technology positions within their organizations as chief technology officers or other top executive positions that oversee information technology. Honors will be made to CTOs in public, private and not-for-profit organizations with a top honoree chosen from among the top three category nominees. See the past CTO of the Year winners here.
