CICP has released its 2022 annual report, marking a year of significant change for the organization. CICP marked many milestones including a transition of leadership. After ten years at the helm of CICP, David L. Johnson retired at the end of the year. Named as his successor was former Cummins executive Melina Kennedy. She assumed the role of CEO while Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Latoya Botteron was promoted to president. She also retained her role as CFO. BioCrossroads releases 2022 Indiana Life Sciences Capital Report showing $6.8B in capital investment in the life sciences sector

INDIANAPOLIS (April 17, 2023) — BioCrossroads today released its annual analysis of capital invested to grow and support Indiana life sciences companies in 2022. “We are pleased to report that Indiana experienced capital investment of more than $6.8 billion in 2022 that will directly result in the creation of 3,000 new life sciences sector jobs in the state,” said Jane Dunigan-Smith, BioCrossroads’ senior vice president, chief strategy officer and managing director of Seed Funds. “This includes more than $600 million in venture capital to support innovation and start-ups along with $2.8 billion in other capital investments for establishing, expanding or upgrading Indiana life sciences facilities.” Indiana’s life sciences sector contributed $77 billion to the state’s economy last year. New research unveils areas ripe for innovation to eliminate food insecurity

INDIANAPOLIS (April 5, 2023) — AgriNovus Indiana, an initiative to grow the state’s agbioscience economy, released new research today identifying the need for new technologies to drive connectivity between food access and populations experiencing food insecurity. Conducted by the Center for Food Demand Analysis and Sustainability at Purdue University, the study entitled Tackling and Solving Food Insecurity with Private Sector Innovations, identified factors contributing to food insecurity, populations most widely affected and recommendations for private sector innovation to help hungry populations. “Combatting food insecurity requires a portfolio of solutions, and it’s clear that innovation presents tremendous opportunity to unlock new ability to better connect food supply with food demand,” said Mitch Frazier, president and CEO of AgriNovus Indiana. Indianapolis airline pilot, Bridge Builder Award announced for TechPoint’s Mira Awards

INDIANAPOLIS (April 4, 2023) — Indianapolis native Captain Ryan Lynch, a Republic Airways commercial airline pilot, founder of the National Aviation Youth Resources (NAYR) Foundation and director of the Indianapolis/Indiana ACE Academy, will receive the TechPoint Foundation for Youth (TPF4Y) Bridge Builder Award during TechPoint’s 24th  annual Mira Awards gala honoring the best of tech in Indiana. Also at the gala, the Foundation will remark on the organization’s activities and cap off its annual fundraising drive. Jason Kloth, president and CEO, Ascend Indiana In a recent Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ) Op-ed, Ascend Indiana President and CEO Jason Kloth talks about a rapidly changing labor market that is requiring talent to be more educated. A recent Ascend Indiana and EmployIndy study reports highly skilled, highly educated workers are the most in demand across Indiana. Yet statistics paint a negative trend, with fewer high school graduates pursuing the education needed to fill those roles. The good news is state legislators have introduced practical steps to address that gap by making adjustments to the 21st Century Scholars program, graduation waivers and ways of obtaining financial aid.
