TechPoint releases 2022 Indiana Tech Venture Report

Digital innovation was alive and well in Indiana last year despite all the markings of a potential inflection point amid inflation, rising interest rates, fewer public listings, global supply chain strains, labor shortage, increasing geopolitical tensions, and the most complicated macroeconomic trends of the last few decades. Public filings and independent analysis showed 132 Hoosier tech companies reported $441 million in capital investment last year, the state’s second-highest amount of capital investment in tech companies since TechPoint began collecting publicly reported investment data. IEDC, in partnership with Conexus Indiana, invests nearly $23 million in Manufacturing Readiness Grants to Hoosier businesses in 2022

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 2, 2023) – The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), in partnership with Conexus Indiana, announced today that 186 Manufacturing Readiness Grants totaling $22.7 million were awarded in 2022, supporting $352.7 million in technology-enabled capital investment among manufacturers. The innovative program, structured to allow Indiana based manufacturers to increase production efficiency, invested in 60 counties across Indiana in 2022. Launched in 2020, the Manufacturing Readiness Grants program was created to stimulate private sector investments to modernize Indiana’s manufacturing industry. IBJ: Indiana Life Sciences Companies Raise Record $620M in 2022

A recent article in the Indianapolis Business Journal by reporter John Russell, shows that Indiana’s healthcare and life sciences sector, often hailed as a key driver of the state’s economy, landed a record $619.8 million in venture funding last year, a hefty increase over the previous record, set a year earlier. Data provided by CICP's life sciences initiative BioCrossroads also shows that the amount of funding raised is 43% larger than the previous record of $433 million, set in 2021. According to the story, thirty-seven companies signed 40 deals last year for venture funding, for an average deal amount of $15.5 million. Office of Career and Technical Education opens applications for Education Readiness Grants; Partners with Conexus Indiana and TechPoint

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), in partnership with Conexus Indiana and TechPoint, has opened applications for Education Readiness Grants, which provide funding for selected schools to implement high school CTE programs in high-demand career fields, specifically advanced manufacturing and information technology. The grant aims to strengthen partnerships between industry and local schools, while increasing student access to opportunities in these career fields. Schools seeking to implement or expand select programs of study in advanced manufacturing and information technology are eligible to apply. Applications are available here and open through February 15. Grant recipients must demonstrate a direct connection with local employers in advanced manufacturing or information technology with the goal of recruiting more students to CTE and graduating job-ready students with experience and credentials needed by local employers.
