CICP 2019 Annual Report

With the release of its 2019 annual report, CICP looks back at an ambitious year for the organization and its six key talent and industry sector initiatives, AgriNovus Indiana, Ascend Indiana, BioCrossroads, Conexus Indiana, Energy Systems Network and TechPoint. The initiatives represent agbiosciences, talent and workforce development, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and logistics, energy technology and technology, respectively. While CICP reflects on its history and the deep legacy of its work, it also has a sharp focus on the future and, in particular, a visionary project that spreads to all borders of Indiana, the Indiana GPS Project – Growth and Prosperity in the State. Made possible through a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., CICP is leading a multi-dimensional study of Indiana’s economy designed to focus business priorities and spur intentional growth across the entire state of Indiana.

The 2019 BioCrossroads Annual Report outlines how companies made acquisitions and invested in their local operations; new organizations opened facilities in Indiana, bringing innovation and hundreds of new jobs to the landscape; and start-ups received venture funding to move their products forward. Governor, Mayor Hogsett announce #INthistogether campaign to flatten the curve

INDIANAPOLIS, April 1, 2020 – Governor Eric J. Holcomb and Mayor Joe Hogsett – and a coalition of statewide business and community partners including Eli Lilly and Company – announced a social distancing campaign to help flatten the curve for COVID-19 in Indiana. The #INthistogether campaign will help Hoosiers understand the importance of social distancing, provide access to helpful tips and information and galvanize communitywide commitment to flattening the curve. When done correctly, social distancing reduces the number of hospitalizations and deaths related to the pandemic. Gov. BioCrossroads announces DataX BioInnovation Challenge winners

INDIANAPOLIS (March 27, 2020) –BioCrossroads today announced the winners of their DataX BioInnovation Challenge, a competition where innovators used data sets to identify and investigate a hypothesis aimed at improving two Indiana health issues – diabetes and opioid abuse. The Challenge was created to intersect life sciences and data research and encourage new ways of investigating traditional disease biology and public health outcomes’ questions. Founded on the premise that asking critical questions can leverage publicly available data sets, the Challenge sought to foster new solutions. Indiana Poison Center at IU Health won the diabetes challenge with a prize of $10,000. Their experiment is focused on the unintentional ingestion of Type II diabetes oral medications which can cause devastating hypoglycemia in children and adults.
