INDIANAPOLIS (March 24, 2020) -- Indiana’s life sciences industry keeps evolving, expanding, and making new discoveries. In 2019, companies made acquisitions and invested in their local operations; new organizations opened facilities in Indiana, bringing innovation and hundreds of new jobs to the landscape; and start-ups received venture funding to move their products forward. The result is a vibrant and growing Indiana life sciences sector. The sector showed notable growth in several areas as it continues to compete with coastal hubs in the size of its workforce, number of companies and productivity. 16 Tech partners with 1776 on Innovation Hub

National incubation network and innovation management provider 1776 has formed a partnership with 16 Tech Community Corporation to help establish a 100,000-plus square foot innovation hub in the 16 Tech Innovation District located within the Indiana Avenue Cultural District near downtown Indianapolis. The 16 Tech Innovation Hub will open in early 2021. The 16 Tech Innovation Hub, currently under construction, is an adaptive reuse of the former headquarters of the Indianapolis Water Company. AgriNovus Indiana names acting CEO; Bechdol to transition to UN post

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 20, 2020) — AgriNovus Indiana, the state’s initiative to promote and accelerate the growth of the agbiosciences sector, announced in December 2019 that current president and CEO, Beth Bechdol, was confirmed by the United Nations to be the Deputy Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy. During the transition and search period, Aaron Schacht, executive vice president of Innovation, Regulatory and Business Development for Elanco and chair of the AgriNovus Board and CEO search committee, will serve as acting-CEO of the initiative. Among them, is a planned $14.5 million, 350-foot bridge that will span Fall Creek. “It really symbolizes the connectivity between people and ideas that’s at the heart of the mission of the 16 Tech Innovation District,” said Krueger, who notes the bridge will link the 50 acre district with neighborhoods, trails and assets in and around IUPUI and the Indiana University School of Medicine. In a recent Perspectives article on Inside INdiana Business, John McDonald, co-founder and board member of the Indiana Technology and Innovation Association, says it's time to "pay attention to 16 Tech." He is referring to the 60-acre, 16 Tech Innovation District northwest of downtown Indianapolis.  Multiple construction projects are currently underway in 16 Tech as the $500 million innovation district comes to life. 16 Tech launches signature bridge project to connect innovation

INDIANAPOLIS - 16 Tech Community Corporation is inviting teams from across the nation and around the world to submit qualifications to design a new bridge that will become a signature structure for the 16 Tech Innovation District near downtown Indianapolis. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) & Proposals (RFP) released today seeks submissions from teams for a bridge that will span Fall Creek from 10th Street and Riley Hospital Drive into the 16 Tech Innovation District as well as schematic designs for entrances and wayfinding within the 50-acre development.
