Ascend Indiana collaborates with 14 Indiana colleges and universities to help students enhance their search for jobs and internships statewide

INDIANAPOLIS – Ascend Indiana, the talent and workforce development initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), formed partnerships with 14 Indiana colleges and universities in 2023 to connect more students to good and promising career opportunities in Indiana. Through the Ascend Network, the initiative’s online job matching platform, students will be able to connect with Indiana jobs and internships that match their skill sets and interests and will receive increased one-on-one career guidance and job search support. In addition, these partnerships provide Indiana’s leading employers with a unique platform for hiring students. MUNCIE, Ind. (Dec. 12, 2023) – Ball State University’s Office of Industry Engagement has partnered with Ascend Indiana to connect more students to promising career opportunities in Indiana. Ascend Indiana receives $2.45 million in grants to advance youth apprenticeships statewide

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 4, 2023) – Ascend Indiana, the talent and workforce development initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), has received a $1.7 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation and a $750,000 grant from the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA) to scale youth apprenticeship programs across Indiana. Ascend acts as an intermediary, assisting organizations to start youth apprenticeship programs by building capacity, sharing resources, and providing access to state and national partners. The grant from the Walton Family Foundation was awarded to CICP Foundation, Inc. to advance the charitable activity of Ascend Indiana, and will establish a second cohort of five sites statewide that will each receive $25,000 to design their youth apprenticeship pilots. Jason Kloth, president and CEO, Ascend Indiana INDIANAPOLIS – Ascend Indiana today announced that President and CEO Jason Kloth, will step down on January 1, 2024. Kloth who helped to create the talent and workforce development organization nearly nine years ago, will serve in a consulting capacity after the first of the year to ensure a smooth transition. A recent Ascend Indiana and EmployIndy study reports highly skilled, highly educated workers are the most in demand across Indiana. Yet statistics paint a negative trend, with fewer high school graduates pursuing the education needed to fill those roles. Terre Haute, Ind. (March 21, 2023) – Indiana State University and Ascend Indiana have partnered to connect students more intentionally to career opportunities in Indiana. Through the Ascend Network, an online job matching platform, Sycamore students will be able to connect with Indiana jobs and internships that match their skill sets and interests and will receive one-on-one career guidance and job search support through Ascend Network staff. Since its inception in 2017, Ascend has connected more than 3,000 Hoosiers with jobs and training opportunities in all sectors across the state.
