Ball State University partners with Ascend Indiana to assist students with career and internship searches

MUNCIE, Ind. (Dec. 12, 2023) – Ball State University’s Office of Industry Engagement has partnered with Ascend Indiana to connect more students to promising career opportunities in Indiana. Through the Ascend Network, the initiative’s online job matching platform, Ball State students can connect with Indiana jobs and internships that match their skillsets and interests and receive increased one-on-one career guidance and job search support. Ascend Indiana receives $2.45 million in grants to advance youth apprenticeships statewide

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 4, 2023) – Ascend Indiana, the talent and workforce development initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), has received a $1.7 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation and a $750,000 grant from the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA) to scale youth apprenticeship programs across Indiana. Ascend acts as an intermediary, assisting organizations to start youth apprenticeship programs by building capacity, sharing resources, and providing access to state and national partners. The grant from the Walton Family Foundation was awarded to CICP Foundation, Inc. to advance the charitable activity of Ascend Indiana, and will establish a second cohort of five sites statewide that will each receive $25,000 to design their youth apprenticeship pilots. Jason Kloth, president and CEO, Ascend Indiana INDIANAPOLIS – Ascend Indiana today announced that President and CEO Jason Kloth, will step down on January 1, 2024. Kloth who helped to create the talent and workforce development organization nearly nine years ago, will serve in a consulting capacity after the first of the year to ensure a smooth transition. In addition to consulting for Ascend, CICP, and others, Kloth plans to focus on his family and spending more time with his two young children.
