INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 31, 2022) – The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) announces the hiring of Tim George as executive vice president for Innovation and Collaboration. He brings more than a decade of experience as a strategist and leader working with state and federal government, nonprofits, and the private sector to turn ideas into outcomes.
In his new role, George will help enable CICP’s priorities including projects and programs that span across CICP branded initiatives. CICP sponsors six key talent and industry sector initiatives AgriNovus Indiana, Ascend Indiana, BioCrossroads, Conexus Indiana, Energy Systems Network and TechPoint. In George’s role he will work with CICP leadership to advance innovative collaborative strategies across several sectors for the purpose of advancing innovation in Central Indiana.
Previously, George was director of policy for Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, where he led development of policies, managed special projects, and served as the interim executive director of the Indiana Office of Energy Development. He also served as executive director of the Governor’s Teacher Compensation Commission, which prompted a record increase in state education funding and numerous policy changes. In addition, he chaired or has served on other task forces focused on a variety of topics such as interagency data analysis, racial equity, and economic development. In earlier government service, he spent two years as an aide to former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels.
George practiced law at Alston & Bird LLP in Charlotte, NC, advising private equity firms and banking clients on acquisitions, strategic investments, and financial transactions. He has a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and earned his bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College (IL). He also is a member of the American Enterprise Institute’s Leadership Network.
